It’s really hard to get clean lines when it comes to putting stripes on manicures. I’m going to share a little DIY secret– nail polish on scotch tape. You can cut a perfect line or triangle and get a fun geometric mani. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. You’ll need polish, scissors + scotch tape.
  2. Apply polish to your tape. Whatever color you want. Let it dry (I allowed 30 minutes just to be safe).
  3. Cut strips!
  4. Cut triangles.

When you’re done, apply them to a pre-polished nail with the sticky side down. Then give it a good top coat!

I did it! I made some! (MORE!)

(mine on left) (pic from DIY tutorial in middle) (mine on right)

These were the trial ones and they turned out MARVELOUS!

Tutorial Here

The tutorial didn’t say how much glue to use, or water or corn starch, but I used as follows:

  • 1/2 bottle (or a little bit more) Elmers School Glue (I used the regular sized bottle, not the large bottle)
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 2 tbsp of corn starch

Mine came out stiff but not MEGA stiff, so I guess if you add more glue and maybe a little less water it’ll be stiffer.
